Salary: $75k to $80k base in candidate experience

Summary:
Directs the operation of the facility to meet all of the quality, food safety, and customer requirements in the most safe, cost-effective, and timely manner by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees to increase plant productivity while maintaining optimal safe working conditions.
- Develop and implement reporting methods and systems to evaluate and control attainment of planned objectives.
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of facility.
- Develop and implement training programs and plans to upgrade employee skills and cross- train for career development.
- Monitor plant departmental activities and assist with problems as necessary to meet planned production schedules and insure product quality.
- Review operational issues with involved departments to resolve problems or implement changes.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases to improve production operations or working conditions.
- Assist in development of capital budget plan to meet needs of the facility and corporate strategic objectives. Report progress of capital projects to budget on a monthly basis or as requested.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 100+ employees in the Production, Sanitation, Scheduling, and Warehouse. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications/Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications/competencies:
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred fields of study include food science, business management, industrial management, and/or engineering. Experience must be in supervisory and operational responsibility for food manufacturing.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read and interpret financial statements and budget.
Technical Skills
Familiarity with mechanical functions of all machines/equipment.
Familiarity with processing procedures in all departments.
Strong knowledge of all governmental regulations concerning the operations, e.g. OSHA, FDA, HAACP, as well as good manufacturing practices for food processing facilities.
Personal computer skills to include spreadsheet software and word processing software (MS Word & Excel).
People Skills
Proven competency in human relations activities which require approachability, conflict management, developing subordinates, directing subordinates, managing and measuring performance, motivating, building team spirit and morale, and understanding diverse viewpoints.
