Human Resources Manager

Reports to:  Vice President of Human Resources                        
Department:  Human Resources
Classification: Salaried Exempt                                                      
Division:  Marietta / Rockmart
Supervisory Responsibilities:  Yes                                                   
Salary: $45k- $60k yearly base in experience                                                              
Schedule: There two shifts

  • Monday to Friday 8:00am -5:00pm or
  • Monday to Friday  9:00am – 6:00pm

JOB SUMMARY:
To manage divisional human resources department, overseeing administration of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, compliance, payroll, and benefits.  Responsibilities include development and administration of personnel policies and procedures, including administration of benefits, unemployment and worker’s comp.  To partner closely with local management team to communicate various Human Resources programs, policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. Ultimately responsible for all HR personnel and duties for the Divisional (Marietta or Rockmart) office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs policies for hiring and adherence to EEOC and affirmative action programs and diversity goals set by the corporation.  Completes EEOC-1 and VETS 100 report in a timely manner
  • Enforces policies and programs (Orientation, Exit Interviews, Focus Groups, etc) that seek to increase retention rates and foster employee job satisfaction and high morale. 
  • Approves terminations, and exercises care that reasons are well documented and are not arbitrary or discriminatory.
  • Oversees maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records.  Ensures that rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed.
  • Monitors company policies to ensure compliance; including regular updating of Employee Handbook.
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.  Responsible for representing the Company at any hearings when acting as a material witness.
  • Responsible for effective unemployment claims responses and representing the company at any unemployment hearings.
  • Oversees preparation of job descriptions.  Supports programs that encourage excellent performance and increase retention rates including Performance Review, and related incentive and employee relations programs. 
  • Reviews benefits and tries to maximize job satisfaction while keeping the cost of the benefits package under control.
  • Responsible for effective management of Workers Compensation, including representation at Workers Compensation hearings.
  • Makes regular reports to Vice President of Human Resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Over five years of experience in human resources with increasing responsibilities
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field is helpful
  • Thorough knowledge of laws affecting human resources administration
  • Demonstrated management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual skills are helpful
  • Strong PC skills for all MS Office and Company specific computer programs
