Job Duties /Technical Skills
|
- General understanding of all plant machinery and subsystems.
- Performs machinery and basic equipment examinations to troubleshoot for defects/ visual wear in operation.
- Advise Lead/Supervisor of problems and makes repairs as needed
- Performs basic electrical testing: motor testing; fuse/continuity checks; voltage/resistance/ current relationships
- Perform machine shop functions (sheet metal, steel layout and welding)
- Has a working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic power principles.
- Thorough knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, acid hazards and proper techniques for handling materials (MSDS)
- Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law (Electrical formulas and equations) and NEC (National Electric Code)

- Proficient in operating a wide variety of tools and instruments (including micrometers, calipers, voltmeters and other gauges; hand tools; power tools; computers)
- Advise Lead/Supervisor of problems and makes repairs as needed.
- Expert knowledge of all plant machinery in a minimum of (3) areas, including controls and subsystems; can operate machinery to produce a product or component
- Performs machinery and equipment examinations to troubleshoot for defects in operation; troubleshoots equipment containing a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) using ladder logic, other tools and analysis.
- Proficient working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic power principles
- Prepare reports on improving operations
- Proficient knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance
- Proficient in Ohm’s Law (Electrical formulas and equations) and NEC (National Electric Code)
- Train lower level associates in all aspects of maintenance and quality expectations.
May fill in for Team Lead or Shift Coordinator as needed

- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Read/follow blueprints, and draw simple schematics
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Excellent general math skills.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Proficient at Microsoft Excel & Word
- Completes all required data entry & documentation in Maintenance software.

Formal Education/Training
(Diploma, Degree, Cert, License) |
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and two years technical trade school or college related to electrical and/ or mechanical trades or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Maintains technical competence in advancing technology via frequent training courses, vendor schools, seminars and industry associations and publications.
Forklift Certificate.
