Position Purpose

The SAP Specialist will work directly with company’s partner organizations (Financial functions) to understand their strategic initiatives, clarify and prioritize associated business challenges and opportunities, while gaining support and commitment from stakeholders.

The person will facilitate the reengineering of business processes required to support these business challenges and recommend best-fit technology solutions.

The person will apply advanced problem-solving techniques and coordinate with other core team members to resolve system issues, maintain complex business logic and identify and provide appropriate resolution metrics to management.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Gather detail requirements from business users for approved mid-sized projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
• Perform design for approved mid-sized projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
• Perform program configuration/modification and set-up activities on midsized projects using specific HD process techniques.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the Business Client.
• Provide System Requirement Documents (SRD) and Systems External Specifications (SES) documents to the UAT and System test groups, to assist with testing scenarios.
• Coordinate training and rollout plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
• Provide technical direction to associate functional configurations, functional configurations and assigned contractors.
• Interface with Business Stakeholders, IT Infrastructure teams, and Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within a software package.
  

Nature and Scope

• Typically reports to Manager or Sr. Manager, Information Technology
• No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but require the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
  
  

Environmental Job Requirements

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Up to 3 years of related experience.
• SAP experiences a must.
• SAP Accounts Payable Experience or SAP Treasury experience is extremely helpful.
• Previous experience in technical project leadership role a plus.
• Retail/business experiences a plus.
• Excellent ability to communicate in written and oral form.
• Partnership with user community.
• BS Computer Science or related field, MS a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age
• Must pass the Drug Test
• Must pass the Background Check
• Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
  

Physical Job Requirements

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

• Ability to succinctly identify business requirements and document design
• Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Solution oriented, creative thinker  Strong decision making and solid experience with package software implementation methodology and tools
